Infantile cortical hyperostosis – Caffey’s disease

  • Children under 1 year of age


Etiology: AD or sporadic form – osseous growth spurt during development.

Common sites:

  • Mandible
  • Clavicle
  • Scapula
  • Frontal bone
  • Ulna

Radiology: Mandibular enlargement, cortical redundancy

Lab:

  • Anemia
  • Leukocytosis
  • ↑ ESR
  • ↑Serum alkaline phosphatase.
  • Monocytosis

Management: Symptomatic
